Method and structure of PNB sailing practices
The PNB sailing practices are carried out every month of the year in the Port Olímpic of Barcelona, aboard one of our sailboats of up to 15 meters in length.
The practice sessions are carried out on a voyage basis with a rest stop every 4 hours.
You can do them during the week on four consecutive days, with 4 hours of practice each day, or on a weekend, with 8 hours of practice each day.
You will do the sailing practices only once, since they are valid for any of the titles, that is, if you later get the PER title, this title will be enabled for sailing.
Agenda of the PNB navigation practices
The objective of the practices is that you identify what are the safety guidelines on board and that you are able to avoid risks during sailing. Special emphasis will be placed on tacking and jibing maneuvers, since during these there is a greater risk of accidents and breakdowns.
During the 16 hours of internship you will learn:
- Courses of the boat depending on the wind and maneuvers.
- Boat elements related to sailing: rigging, rigging, sails... and the most common knots.
- How sails are folded and cared for.
- How to hoist and lower the sails.
- How sail balance influences gait.
- How the boat reacts when you put the rudder to one side or another and its effect on speed reduction.
- Adjust sails depending on the course and the use of the ropes.
- How to take the waves depending on the course and its influence on the progress of the boat.
- How to carry out advanced maneuvers under sail: tackling, pairing, anchoring, leaving the anchorage under sail and safety maneuvers such as collecting man overboard, putting reefs, etc.

Pel que fa a l’escola, serietat en la gestió i personal facilitador. El vaixell, Artimó, molt adient per les pràctiques. L’ambient molt engrescador, amb alumnes implicats en la pràctica i en generar un bon ambient a bord i el professor impecable en les formes i els fets.
JUAN MINGORANCE MENA –
Aquest cap de setmana (1 i 2 d’abril) vaig realitzar les pràctiques homologades de Vela a bord del ARTIMÓ. Ha estat una experiència excepcional, el Patró / Instructor, Miquel, és un excel·lent professor, es preocupa que tot l’equip participi i aprengui, sense mandra, repeteix una i altra vegada l’ensenyament de les maniobres fins que s’assegura que tot l’equip sense excepció les entén a la perfecció i és capaç de realitzar-les fins i tot per si sol. L’experiència com a activitat també és recomanable, vaig tenir la gran sort de compartir les pràctiques amb un grup genial. Sens dubte, el fet que l’escola disposi de bones embarcacions, també és un punt positiu. Totalment recomanable i que recomano. Excel·lent escola, bons vaixells i monitors 10.

Este fin de semana (1 y 2 de abril) realicé las practicas homologadas de Vela a bordo del ARTIMÓ. Ha sido una experiencia excepcional, el Patrón/Instructor, Miquel, es un excelente profesor, se preocupa que todo el equipo participe y aprenda, sin pereza, repite una y otra vez la enseñanza de las maniobras hasta que se asegura que todo el equipo sin excepción las entiende a la perfección y es capaz de realizarlas incluso por si solo. La experiencia como actividad también es recomendable, tuve la gran suerte de compartir las practicas con un grupo genial. Sin duda, el hecho que la escuela disponga de buenas embarcaciones, también es un punto positivo. Totalmente recomendable y que recomiendo. Excelente escuela, buenos barcos y monitores 10.
