CY navigation practices: 48-hour journey from Barcelona to the Balearic Islands

How CY navigation practices are organized
The Barcelona – Balearic Islands – Barcelona crossing will last 48 hours, with a minimum of 8 hours of night navigation.
The estimated departure from Port Olímpic will be on a Friday around 7:00 p.m. aboard a cruising sailboat of more than 40 feet.
The meeting point is at the Marina Dock of the Port Olímpic of Barcelona.
The destination will be the island of Majorca or Menorca.
In summary, the navigation and rest periods will be a minimum of 18 hours without stopping on the way out, anchoring upon arrival, and if possible, we will go down to the Island to eat, but whoever prefers to eat on board can do so. For the return, another 18 hours of navigation, also non-stop, carrying out the planned agenda of the practices on both voyages.
The sailboats are equipped with all the regulatory security measures, both for personal security elements and for communications. They have a location system that allows us to know where they are at all times.
Depending on the weather forecast, it is advisable to bring a raincoat and warm clothes. In addition to comfortable clothing appropriate for a journey and appropriate footwear.
During the navigation you will be able to rest while others will guard on deck, you will take turns.

El profesor y las instalaciones excelente. Decepcionada con la planificación de las clases (se acabo el temario en la misma semana que había el examen), y demasiada gente por clase, era imposible poder seguir las explicaciones del profesor.

Gracias por tus comentarios Julio. Vuestras críticas siempre nos ayudan a mejorar. Todo lo que comentas tiene un denominador común: el exceso de alumnos clase. Incluso los cambios de fechas que mencionas se realizaron para poder adaptarnos a las fechas que iban bien a todos (o casi todos) los alumnos. Gracias a que el curso que ofrecemos es de gran calidad, se ha corrido la voz entre los alumnos en Barcelona y ello ha provocado una demanda enorme de plazas para realizar el curso de Capitán de Yate en Escola Port. Por nuestra parte al contar aulas nuevas en 2017 sabíamos que por capacidad y espacio no habría problemas, pero no contábamos con las diferencias de niveles entre unos y otros alumnos, lo que que ha provocado los desajustes que mencionas. La verdad, en todos los años que llevamos impartiendo titulaciones de recreo, nunca nos habíamos encontrado un curso de Capitán de Yate con tantos alumnos y creo que pocas escuelas se habrán encontrado con una situación parecida. Si que nos encontramos grupos así, o mayores, en cursos como el PER, por ejemplo, pero al ser la materia más sencilla normalmente no suele haber quejas por la cantidad de alumnos en clase. Para próximos cursos de Capitán de Yate, con tantos alumnos, aumentaremos las horas del curso (por su puesto, sin repercutir en el precio del curso). He de decirte que el profesor Raúl nada más empezar el curso, a la segunda clase, me comentó que el grupo era demasiado grande y que no podría avanzar como le gustaría. Mi respuesta fue que no se preocupase, que aumentase las horas del curso las que fuese necesario… y aquí nos encontramos con el imprevisto del embarazo adelantado de su mujer, que nos impidió poder hacer esa ampliación de horas como estaba previsto. En todo caso, lamentamos mucho los inconvenientes y el malestar causado por todos los imprevistos. A ti y todos tus compañeros os deseamos un excelente resultado en el examen, y recordaros que, si por mala fortuna no salís aptos en esta convocatoria, para el próximo curso teórico de Capitán de Yate tenéis abiertas las puertas de la escuela sin ningún coste.
